This post is about the biggest market in Rīga. It's a very special market. Why? Because of its location. The market takes places in old zeppelin halls (it's probably the only market in the world which is located in zeppelin halls).
I personally like markets a lot, because of the biological and ecological aspect.
But I've never seen a market as big as the market in Rīga. There are four zeppelin halls, and in every hall you can buy different food. There's a fish hall, a vegetable and fruit hall, a meat hall and a milk product hall (I hope I'm remembering that right).
I never visited a fish market before, so I was a bit shocked. First the smell, it smells *surprise surprise* very fishy. And then there's fish everywhere. Thousands of fish. And some of them are still alive. There were some fish jumping, and breathing, and in big boxes were this fish which look like snakes (for the Germans: Aale), and they all were alive and snaking around and looking strange.
The hall were the vegetables are sold looks very cool, because there are colors everywhere.
Also, you have an extremely big possibility to choose what you like, because there is so much food.
If you're a tourist visiting Rīga, don't miss this place. It's very special. And also, you can get healthy and natural products there.
Have a nice Nikolaus-Day, dear Germans (we're not celebrating it in Latvia) and have a nice 2nd advent, everyone!
