I realised that I haven't posted since more than a week, so I decided to give you a little update how I'm doing.
Winter
In Latvia, winter should have started some weeks ago. But according to the guy in the TV weather forecast, this is one of the warmest latvian winters. It snowed one time a few weeks ago, but the snow melted, and yesterday it started snowing again. But the temperatures are over 0° so this snow probably won't stay either. Also it's only about a centimeter. In Latvia on the TV they show everyday how high the chance for white Christmas is, and right now it says we will have about 10° (and of course no snow).
Honestly, that's okay for me. Because too warm for snow also means too warm for me to freeze when I leave the house. I got used to temperatures around 0°, and can stay outside for longer times without getting very could. The only problem is the wind (storm), because this makes everything feel a lot colder.
By the way, winter on latvian is "ziemas".
Hostfamily
I already live with my new hostfamily since 4 weeks and 2 days. Things are going great, I'm happy, I think they're also happy, I get along with them very good, and I'm sooooooooooooo happy that I changed the family.
To exchange students which have big problems with their hostfamilies: don't fear this step. It gets a lot better after it.
Latvian
My latvian got better, even though it's not as good as I expected it to be after more than 3 months.
But I understand quite a lot and can make simple sentences.
The biggest thanks go to my hostdad who is not giving up on talking latvian with me, and to my schoolfriend Keita, she's everyday trying to have a latvian conversation with me.
I'll keep you updated.
Have a nice advent!
