First school day

In Latvia you bring your teacher flowers on the first say of school. So my hostsister and I went to a flower shop before school. There were really nice flowers, and I thought that they would be very expensive. But my flowers were only 3€, and they were not even the cheapest ones. I think latvian people really like flowers, there are many jobs in which you work with them.
So after buying flowers we went in my school, Rīgas 6. vidusskola (Rīga's 6. school, there are so many schools in Rīga that they have numbers).
There, one of the school's orchestras was playing, and the class of my hostsister was taking the new young students and bringing them to their class (I think this may be a latvian tradition).
My hostsister presented me to a girl from my class, and so I was just following her. On the first day, there are no normal lessons, the teacher was just talking to us about something (I have no idea what she was telling) and presented me (I know this because the latvian word for exchange student is apmaiņas skolēns, and she said this a few times). The people in my class seem to be pretty nice, and I'm also not sitting alone, but with the girl my hostsister presented me.
School only took about 2 hours, and then I was going home with my hostsister.
Tomorrow, I think there will be 'normal' lessons. The teacher also told us that there is a sports day on 3rd of september, but only if it's not raining.
I'm really looking forward to learn more about latvian school and my classmates.
On the picture you can see my flowers.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Atā! ♡
